Coloring is good for you.......

  • Coloring is a stress-free activity that relaxes the amygdala (the fear center of the brain) and allows your mind to get the rest it needs.  
  • Coloring has therapeutic potential to reduce anxiety, create focus or bring about more mindfulness. 
  • Coloring gives you a chance to be social 
  • Psychiatrists have been 'prescribing' coloring for a hundred years. 
  • Coloring Reduces Stress and Anxiety
  • Coloring opens up the frontal love (the home of organizing and problem solving) and focuses the mind.  
  • Coloring reminds us how to live in the moment which is a critical skill
  • Coloring lets *you* be *you*.    If you want a purple cat or a blue duck you can have a purple cat or a blue duck. Do it how *you* want to instead of how you think it should be.
  • Coloring uses the part of your brain involved in vision and fine motor skills.   It may, in fact, delay or prevent the onset of dementia.
