Please review the following precautions that we are taking in order to maintain a healthy environment for all Irricana and area residents:

Our commitment to you:

  • Staff will be wearing masks and gloves when handling materials.
  • We have improved our cleaning and disinfecting practices, especially in high traffic areas
  • We will provide access to hand sanitizer
  • Books received or returned to our library will be quarantined for a minimum of 72 hours before being placed back on shelves
  • Computers will be sanitized in between use by different patrons.

Please respect our guidelines upon reopening and adhere to the following:

  • Masks are recommended for patrons
  • Limit to 4 Patrons in the library at a time including the one using the public computer
  • No public access to washrooms at this time.
  • One-hour limit for computer use and if assistance is required masks must be worn by both parties.
  • Social distancing at all times (minimum of 2 meters from other patrons or staff, except when at the front desk where there is a barrier). There are signs on the floor.

No access for individuals showing any signs of sickness, or who have been exposed to other individuals with the following symptoms:

  • Feeling unwell,
  • New or worsening cough,
  • Fever,
  • Sore Throat,
  • Fatigue or weakness,
  • Body aches,
  • Headache
  • Gastrointestinal symptoms (abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting),
  • Loss of smell or taste
  • Skin changes or rashes

Patrons are requested not to re-shelve books that they have handled. When a patron takes a book off of the shelf to look at it, they place it on top of the shelf when they are done so that it can be collected, the top of the shelf, sanitized and the book quarantined for 72 hours before being put back out.

Programs and craft will be Virtual or outdoor only where social distancing could be maintained.
